The Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation launches the “Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Academy for Arabic poetry” that will start its first courses on Saturday (21/01/2017) at Al-Babtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry and will end on February 3, 2017.
The Academy offers free lessons for students aged 12-15 years old in topics such as “The history of poetry and its influence”, “prosody”, “poetry reading” and “elocution.” This course will be taught by Dr Abdullah Gholeis, poet Abdullah Failkawi, elocution trainer Nora Aalghemlas and Salem Al-Romaidhi. Each student will receive a certificate from the Academy at the end of each course.
Poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain confirmed that this academy is an addition to the efforts of the Foundation in promoting Arabic poetry especially for the new generations. “Poetry is an important pillar of the Arabic language and the Foundation has dedicated various activities to promote Arabic poetry and language, inside and outside the Arab world, such as conferences, training courses and the Arabic language Chairs established in many western universities,” he said in a press statement.
Al-Babtain also invited the new generations to take advantage of this academy as it provides important lessons that will benefit them in their education and life.
