Following his visit to Abdulaziz
Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation in Kuwait, the President of the
International Peace Institute (IPI)and UN Under-Secretary-GeneralTerjeRoed-Larsen
sent a message to the President of the Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Saud
Al-Babtain, in which he thanked Al-Babtain for the excellent reception,
hospitality and the intellectually rewarding exchange that the members of the
IPI’s delegation had during their visit to Kuwait.
Roed-Larsen expressedhope and
optimism to a very promising partnership between the Foundation and the International
Peace Institute (IPI). “Al-Babtain’s work and your forward-looking approach and
visionary concepts stemmed in me and the Director of International Peace
Institute Middle and North Africa Office (IPI, MENA), Mr. NajeebFriji, both
hope and optimism in a very promising partnership between your institution and the
IPI,” he said.
The IPI’s Presidentlaudedin his
letter the tremendous achievements and work of the Foundation, crowned by the
impressive number of awards and recognitions granted to its president poet
Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain and the Foundation by high –level world leaders and
He confirmed that they are looking
forward to put into global result-oriented projects and creative initiatives
all the ideas that they discussed during their meetings in Kuwait. “In this
regard, I would like to stress our commitment to join your Foundation on
programmes and projects including the culture of peace, interfaith dialogue,
regional integration, and the protection of cultural and historical heritage”
the IPI’s President noted.
Roed-Larsen concluded his letter by
confirming that he counts on the role and support of Al-Babtain Foundation to
further enrich the potential that a strategic cooperation and partnership
between both institutions has for the creation of a
regional, and global, momentum of the promotion of the culture of peace.
