On the occasion of celebrating “Kuwait
Capital of Islamic Culture”, Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation holds
poetry contest for youth. The Contest, sponsored the Ministry of Education and
Higher Education, was dedicated to young school students who can write or recite
Arabic classic poetry. The winners will be announced on a ceremony to be held at
the theater of Al-Babtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry, on Monday December
The Kuwaiti schools’ students compete
for three cash prizes allocated by the Foundation besides certificates of
appreciation to the winners, and all participants.
The poetry contest is one of the
contributions of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation in the celebrations
of Kuwait selected “Capital of Islamic Culture”for 2016, by the Islamic
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
The Foundation also contributed with
many other celebrations during the year, including the
production of a documentary titled “Roots and Branches” about the Islamic
cultural history of Kuwait and publishing a two volume book about Islamic poems
of Kuwaiti poets, entitled “Lights of Islam in Arabic poetry in Kuwait”.
