In a meeting held at Al-Babtain
Central Library for Arabic Poetry, the Chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain
Cultural Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain met President of the
International Peace Institute (IPI) and UN Under-Secretary-General Terje
Rod-Larsen and Director of IPI's Middle and North Africa Office (MENA)NajeebFriji
to discuss ways of promoting peace and coexistence between peoples of the world.
In a statement to the press after the
meeting, Al-Babtain announced that the Foundation has partnered with the
International Peace Institute and The United nations to convene jointcultural activities.
“We are delighted to make this partnership with our friends in the United
Nations and all the influential advocates for peace and coexistence between
peoples,” Al-Babtain said, pointing out that the Foundation seeks to complete
the historic role of Arabs who founded a civilization based on wisdom, peace
He added we have always called for
peace with hundreds of intellectuals and influential figures globally through the
conferences ofinter-civilization dialogue, held around the world by Abdulaziz
Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation.
Al-Babtain explained that working
with the United Nations to help spread peace and put an end to conflicts and
humanitarian suffering will have theperfectimpact to help achieving this goal,
the Foundation has been seeking for many years.
Meanwhile, the IPI President said he
is proud to work with the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, and its
president poet AbdulazizSaud Al-Babtainwho is a friend to the whole world,
referring to Al-Babtain’s lot of friends with the same passion around
the world. He added that the partnership will be instrumental in extolling the
virtues of peace and co-existence.
