The UN General Assembly President, Peter Thompson invited the Foundation Chairman Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain to give a speech on Culture of Peace at a High Level Forum to be held at the United Nations Headquarters, on September 7, 2017.
The High Level Forum aims to highlight the emerging trends that impact on the realization of a Culture of Peace and to enable Member States and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and suggestions to build and promote a Culture of Peace including in the context of early childhood development.
Given to his relevant experience, Abdulaziz Al-Babtain was invited to participate as a respondent of Panel I of the Forum which will focus on “Sowing the seeds of the Culture of Peace”.
Al-Babtain received an invitation from Terje Roed-Larsen, the President of the International Peace Institute, to give the Keynote address on a parallel event, on “Advancing the Culture of Peace”. The event will to be held on the same day at the IPI’s Trygve Center for Peace, Security and Development, and attended by the UN General Assembly President, as well as high-level member state representatives, UN Ambassadors, senior officials from the UN Secretariat, and representatives of academia, civil society and the private sector.
